Happy Easter from Tuff Fitty
Happy Easter from us all at Tuff Fitty. Club training sessions seem no closer at the moment, but it is good to see each other encouraging fellow Tuffs to keep active either on-line; at home and in the garden on static bikes or the responsible one a day exercise. Fancy Dress Friday, or Easter Sunday in club kit have all helped.
EASTER GUESSITMATE
Something to get you thinking – how many Eggs are in the jar above? Several have already placed their guess on the Facebook or Instagram post, but if you are not into those platforms, please email your guess to tufffittytri@gmail.com asap as the Tuff with the correct (or closest) answer gets a recognition for their efforts.
UK ATHLETICS
More than ever Tuff Fitty wish to support its members and one popular facet of being a member is the ability to affiliate to England Athletics which in turn feeds up to UK Athletics. The new athletic year started on the 1st April and as a club we had to make a decision to pay the core membership club fee before the end of April – Your committee agreed to do so; it is now over to members to decide whether they wish to affiliate for the year April – March 2021.
Understandably many will be reading this topic thinking that with little sign of racing starting any time soon – why bother. However the governing body has decreed that individual members will get longer to decide because of the UK Government’s restrictions. The fee was due to rise this year to £16 per person, but in light of the recent halt to racing, the fee will remain at £15. UKA ask that those who wish to start, or maintain their membership should make a decision before the end of August. If you do, once races recommence £2 per race is saved as an affiliated athlete. If you wish to renew immediately, or within the next four months, please email tufffittytri@gmail.com so we can get this organised. If we get ten or more affiliate it usually gains the club a guaranteed London Marathon place (to be confirmed in light of the 2020 racing being rescheduled for October)
#NOT2TUFF2TALK
Your committee continues to meet, not only so we can restart activities as soon as government restrictions permit, but also to try and help our members during these difficult times. Thanks to Graham Liddell for preparing the following in conjunction with the committee. Aligning our Tuff policy with Mind the following documents set out our stance. Please do not hesitate to contact any of the committee if you wish, or you would like to provide your own ideas for members.
